Profile
Possesses more than 25 years of experience in geology, hydrogeology, plant operations/maintenance, hazardous waste site investigations, and management of environmental projects for federal/state government, military, industrial, municipal, and private sector clients. Adaptive and imaginative in providing superior client service and meeting ambitious project goals. Adept at scheduling and overseeing field work as well as investigative, monitoring, and remediation activities. Skilled in spearheading sustainability initiatives that facilitate material recycling and energy savings. Proficient with Microsoft Office, MP2 (inventory tracking) Mod Flow, and proprietary budget tracking software. Expertise spans:
Conventional Drilling (Sonic, Auger, Dual Rotary) Direct Push Technology Drilling Surveying Services Proposal Support
Sampling (Soil, Groundwater, Surface Water, Soil Vapor, Treatment Plant) Investigative Derived Materials Risk Mitigation
Regulatory Compliance Health and Safety Behavior-Based Loss Prevention Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 21E
Massachusetts Contingency Plan, 310 CMR 40.000 New Hampshire Statute 146A, Env-Ws 410, 411, 412
Highlights
Ensured client deliverables, including O&M plans, health and safety plans, storm and disaster preparedness plans, and monthly progress reports, were submitted in a timely manner.
Successfully utilized a record number of small business vendors, exceeding a client’s imposed quota.
Saved a client hundreds of thousands of dollars by pioneering the use of direct push drilling technology to install hundreds of groundwater vertical profiles and piezometers since November 2004 one site holds the manufacturer’s record for deepest continuous boring over 300 feet below ground surface.
Served as project manager for a system performance and ecological impact monitoring program, controlling a budget of ~$1.9M and supervising up to 23 staff.
Provided project management support for 12 separate sampling projects as well as for the design of a comprehensive, long-term plan for monitoring all sampling projects.
Improved the quality of subsurface investigations by subcontracting sonic drilling technologies.
Completed the installation of as many as ten small diameter well installations below pond/river bottoms.
Experience
HYDROGEOLOGIC (Otis Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts Military Reservation, Cape Cod, MA)
Sampling Technician 2013 to 2014
Performed groundwater, surface water soil and soil vapor sampling by methods set forth by MassDEP, EPA and ASTM including low-flow, lift, and plastic diffusion bag
CH2MHILL (Otis Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts Military Reservation, Cape Cod, MA)
Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager (concurrent with Field Services Manager role below) 2006 to 2012
Worked with the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) as a project manager/hydrogeologist to manage resources, equipment, materials, supplies, schedules, subcontractors, vendors, regulatory compliance, permits,

reporting, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the evaluation and implementation of optimization opportunities.
Directed operations and maintenance activities associated with nine systems using granular activated carbon to treat
~14 million gallons of groundwater per day. Oversaw the maintenance of 42 extraction wells and 46 re-injection wells. Decommissioned wells (extraction, monitoring and small diameter). Performed carbon exchanges for 53 carbon vessels. Removed sludge from frac tanks. Revised the O&M plan as required. Managed ‘Dig Safe Services’ for the AFCEE’s underground facilities. Assisted in preparing federal proposals; provided accurate estimates for all needed materials and supplies. Supervised eight O&M staff.
Experience
CH2MHILL (Otis Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts Military Reservation, Cape Cod, MA) – Continued
Field Services Manager (concurrent with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager role above) 2003 to 2006
Managed a government-owned property system containing ~$1.3M in ‘other plant equipment’ and ~$350K in spare parts. Administered an annual budget of ~$1.5M. Installed monitoring wells by performing rotary sonic drilling to depths of 300+ feet below ground surface. Assessed groundwater samples and synoptic water levels at 800+ monitoring well and piezometer locations. Conducted and supported sampling at seven major groundwater contaminant plumes and nine groundwater extraction, treatment, re-injection/infiltration/discharge systems. Performed surface water sampling at three ponds and two bog/river systems. Supported the use of new sampling technologies to boost productivity without adversely affecting data quality. Supervised seven field services staff, including environmental scientists and rig geologists, as well as drilling and investigative derived material subcontractors.
JACOBS ENGINEERING (Otis Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts Military Reservation, Cape Cod, MA)
Site Manager 1997 to 2003
Managed staff executing field services functions, including treatment system operation/maintenance, drilling, sampling, investigative derived waste management construction, surveying, extraction, and re-injection well design. Performed cost analysis. Interfaced with government agencies. Coordinated rig geologists and subcontractors. Ensured team compliance hydrogeologic support for ecological studies. Offered recommendations to senior management.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES (Bedford, NH)
Project Manager/Hydrogeologist 1994 to 1996
Prepared schedules, reports, and proposals for projects up to $179K. Led multi-phase environmental site assessments. Investigated hazardous waste sites. Supervised field staff. Interpreted mobile gas chromatography and mass spectrometry in support of soil vapor investigations. Ensured compliance with state environmental regulations.
