Work Experience

2014-2015 Director of Triple K Architects doing mainly housing.

2006-2014 employed by Magqwaka associates architects as senior architect with the main project being the Mitchells Plain Hospital(R600m ($60m)) project representing a consortium of 3 architectural companies namely Magqwaka Associates Architects, Munnik Visser Architects and New Era Architects. Nominataed architect to take project to site and see it to completion. I was also the architect in charge of the in-house training of the junior architects and CAD technologists.

Was in charge of the co-ordination of structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, landscaping, and acoustic consultants' designs.

1996- 2006- Director at Mvududu Architects in Harare Zimbabwe.Work included commercial buildings,institutional buildings and housing.

1990- 1996 Partner at SBT Harvey Mvududu Architects in Harare Zimbabwe. Work included commercial, institutional and office buildings including housing.

1988-1990 Working as a junior architect at Norman Raitt Architects in Glasgow- work included hospital refurbishments and business parks.

1984- 1986 (During the College Vacations only) worked for the British Rail Department as an architectural technician.

1977- 1983 Worked as a senior architectural technician at the National Railways of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

1974- 1977 Worked as an architectural technician at Harvey, Bufe and Partners, while at the same time attending part time cource in building at the Bulawayo Technical College now transformed to NUST ( National University of Science and Technology).

Specific duties and Responsibilities

Liaise with clients to determine Requirements and Needs and assist client with the brief compilation and budget estimates.

Design and create solutions (Sketches, Plans and Specifications) and liaise closely 2

with quantity surveyor to ensure design stays within budget.

Develop presentations which may include drawings, sketches, renderings, perspectives, color and material boards, photographs or models.

Prepare working drawings and specifications for implementing the designs.(including materials, finishes, joinery work and furnishings).

Consider materials, their effect on costs, liaise with supliers and arrange for sample boards for presentation to client to obtain approvals.

Collaborate with professional and technical consultants and coordinate their designs

Report timescales to directors and client regarding design finalisation.

Prepare tender documentation and assist in the adjudication of tenders.

Nominate suppliers and specialist subcontractors and check and approve their shop drawings.

Check and approve contactor's program of works

Attend and chair site meetings, check progress on site and do quality inspections

Issue both Practical Completion Certificates, Works Completion lists and Works Completion Certificates.

Compile a list of Patent and Latent Defects and make a follow up with contractor to insure all is rectified before issuing the Final Account and Final Certificate.

Agree with both contractor aand quantity surveyor on the figure for the Final Account

Prepare As-Built Drawings and issue Final Certificate together with all Manuals as required in the Contract.
