Description

Forests are very unique amongst the variety of natural resources, which are being rediscovered as global resource of local significance. The project is intended to create to generate a Uniform Centralized GIS database of all Notified Forests of the state using high resolution remote sensing satellite data, village cadastral maps, field survey data including GPS coordinates and publish geo-referenced forest maps for easy reference for general public in Bhuvan Web Portal and use the database in various operational and developmental projects related to forestry.

Responsibilities

Planning for field GCP collection.

Block file creation using Cartosat-1 Stereo data to import field GCP points and tie, check points taking on block file to generate Ortho Data, DEM and editing the DEM

High resolution data generation from Ortho-data

Geo-referencing the Cadastral Village Map with the GCP Points collected from field. Perform digitization on the basis of Cadastral Boundaries

Verify and update the existing forest cover by overlying Cadastral Maps and Merged Data

Creation 3 types of Geo-database on the basis of Output: a)Ortho-rectified image data base b)Geo-referenced Village Cadastral Maps C) Update forest Maps

Publication on Bhuvan Geo-Portal for online access.
