Performing check point restarts and taking manual back up.

Performing System IPL as per the Changes (Customer requirement).

Perform recycles on CICS needed to resolve issues or for maintenance.

Changing the Initiators and service classes.

Console and Back up Activities:

Console: Monitoring system performance, recycling regions and tasks, bringing tasks out of automation and vice versa, performing IPL, replying for storage and tapes related WTOR’s, manually submitting weekly backups.

Core Responsibilities:

To follow the procedures of Shut down and Start up for IPL ing the system.

System maintenance, monitoring syslog activities, smf dataset, spool, batch abend and assigning the job initiators. Class and service class.

Console maintenance regions and task abend, start and stop of transactions & regions, cycling of IMS regions, IMS start/stop.

Monitor and handle the critical batch stream.

Standard manipulation of jobs like skills i.e., holding, freeing, killing, demanding, forcing jobs, changing properties of jobs.

Demanding and modifying both permanent and one-time changes

Monitor the batch cycle of LPARS (all regions) and ensure the timely completion of SLA.

Manage JES spool and analyze hardware and software problem informing to the support team.

Escalating, re-assigning, and resolving problem tickets on remedy.
