PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

TRANSOCEAN OFFSHORE DEEPWATER DRILLING, INC. – Houston, Texas 2009 – 2016

Senior Engineer, Structural 2014 – 2016

Provided engineering solutions for problems requested by rig and reported to discipline manager. Implemented concept of two hydraulic cylinders, in absence of overhead crane reach, to support the boom and to raise and lower the boom for flare boom installation project.

Analyzed pontoon hull structure to dry dock rig and performed analysis for heavy lift to transport rig on barge vessel. Calculations included buckling checks for the existing hull structure and checks for structural integrity of rig.

Proposed the arrangement of flare boom removal and installation on turn table in absence of overhead crane reach to complete the corroded foundation repair and replacement. Also analyzed supporting structure manually for the increased capacity of BOP gantry crane.

Recommended the bolted splice arrangement for the supporting brackets for the moonpool beam modification which supports BOP transporter.

Created supporting platform for the installation of work-over control system (IWOCS), winch, fast rescue craft and other different sizes of equipment.

Reviewed analysis report prepared by vendors for the proposed modifications on rig e.g. installation of removable deck, flare boom, and equipment.

Structural Engineer 2010 - 2014

Designed foundation and supporting structures for the installation of flare boom structures, well test equipment, mud pumps, gymnasium room, and very small aperture terminal (VSAT) domes etc.

Performed strength checks of the existing scantling of a rig for various installations like gymnasium room, mezzanine deck, jib cranes, and modification inside sack storage room.

Design Engineer 2009 – 2010

Designed the equipment foundations for a given proposal from Sr. Engineer.

Prepared engineering calculations for a given proposal by checking the scantling.

FLUOR ENTERPRISE, INC. – Sugarland, Texas 2007 – 2009

Associate Design Engineer

Designed and detailed modular and stick built pipe rack structures.

Performed calculations for the estimation of bills of material for steel structures and concrete foundations in front-end engineering and design phases on TOTAL expansion and remap projects.

In detail engineering, analyzed modular pipe racks for lifting condition and water transportation case. Also designed the connections and pile foundations for pipe racks.

Analyzed stick built pipe racks for earthquake and wind load and load combinations for the given project specifications and codes.

Upgraded existing pipe rack foundations which resulted in an increase in the load carrying capacity of the pipe racks for refinery expansion. It involved transferring new loads added to the existing pipe racks to new foundation through new diagonal bracings and bays.

Analyzed and designed steel platforms to support heavy horizontal and vertical vessels.

Designed pipe racks to carry two 56 inch diameter sea water pipes, elevated 11meter above ground, on Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Refinery project.

Designed 60 feet tall steel pipe rack to support pipes at almost five different levels in staggered pattern on TOTAL expansion and revamp project which involved the staggered levels piping load application.

Received distinguished worker award on TOTAL petrochemical refinery project.

KELLOGG BROWN AND ROOT – Houston, Texas 2006 – 2007

Structural Engineer

Designed foundation for the horizontal and vertical vessels on SKIKDA, liquefied natural gas (LNG) refinery, project.

Performed connection design calculations for steel pipe racks on REPSOL project.

AED STRUCTURAL, INC. – Tempe, Arizona 2006

Structural Engineer

Performed static earthquake and wind load analysis on low rise commercial building.

Codes used: American Society of Civil Engineers 7-02 and UBC 97.

PSG ENGINEERING – Houston, Texas 2006

Junior Structural Engineer

Prepared packages for structural analysis of microwave towers. Packages included detailed reports of the project explaining cause of upgrade, drawings for the upgraded tower, and cost for the upgrade.

Analyzed monopole, free standing and guy wire towers on RISA-tower to upgrade their capacity.

Worked on AutoCAD to prepare layout for the tower site.

EDUCATION

M.E. – Lamar University – Beaumont, TX – 2005, Honored with tuition waver and scholarship.

Master of Engineering (Structural) – SP University – Gujarat, India – 2004

Master’s Thesis: “Effect of brick infilled panel in design of high-rise building”

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) – SP University – Gujarat, India – 2001
