Skills & Abilities
MANAGEMENT
For the past 24 years, I have spent most of my life in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically the drilling and exploration side. I was able to work my way to driller, and was well respected by my peers and supervisors as well as the crews that I was responsible for. As happens in this and all I industries, a down turn came and I was relegated back to the lowest levels or, in the worst cases, laid off. However, I was always able to, through hard work and perseverance, to earn my way back to the top.
COMMUNICATION
As the leader of the crew, I was responsible for the pre- tour safety meetings. We would discuss the likely tasks ahead for the. I also was responsible for the Job Safety Analysis meetings which involved both rig personnel and any third party personnel that might be involved in the process
LEADERSHIP
As the driller, I was responsible for teaching the proper techniques to the crew as well as assisting in problem solving when odd situations arose. I took great pride in my ability to excel in these situations, even when very high pressure or dangerous situations were present
