ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE

Chennai Port - Intern (Feb 2013 – Apr 2013)

I had 3 months of valuable experience on various manufacturing process, exposure to Floating crafts, Diesel Engines, Diesel Locomotives.

Implementation of Regenerative braking system in an electric go-kart.

Designed a circuit to configure regenerative braking system in electric go-kart using regen controller consisting of mosfet switches and PWM. Analyzed the overall efficiency of the system. Calculated the friction loss incurred in the system.

Analysis and design modification to improve the performance of solar boiler.

A parabolic solar boiler was subjected to design modifications. I designed a sleeve to be brazed at the end of the copper tube. Also different designs of helical copper tube, helical copper tube enclosed in an aluminum foil were carried out to increase the amount of steam generation and digitally record the data by means of a temperature sensor and raspberry pi to analyze the results.

Create a mathematical model to conduct vibrational analysis on car and car model suspension system.

The idea was to understand and analyze the suspension system of Car model and car model by deriving the equations of motion, find natural frequencies, mode shapes. Also Matlab programs were done to analyze and verify the results.

Comparison on performance of a diesel engine with blends of biodiesel and high speed diesel.

A diesel engine was used to analyze the performance and emission characteristics when blends of biodiesel are used in various proportions as fuel. Brake thermal efficiency, Brake specific fuel consumption were used to analyze the performance. Hydrocarbon, NOx emissions were used to analyze emissions. The results were comparatively good with less harmful emissions.
