Comcast – Project Manager for the development and implementation of a new Business Class Portal for all Comcast Business Class customers. Developed an enterprise-wide IT Needs Assessment Analysis and Plan for the largest regional residential real estate services company. The assessment included brokerage, mortgage, and related services for both corporate and field operations. As a result of the project’s success, served as ongoing council to the newly formed IT Executive Steering Committee.
Documented key financial policies, practices, policies, and procedures for a controlled substance pharmaceutical manufacturer. The project focused on documenting existing operations within the sales, purchasing, and payroll functions, then identifying financial control weaknesses and suggested recommendations for improvement.
Documented financial policies, practices, policies, and procedures for a glass tube and vessel manufacturer. The project focused on documenting existing operations within the A/R, A/P, F/A, Financial Reporting, Inventory & Costing, Payroll, Treasury, and Purchasing functions, then identifying financial control weaknesses and suggested recommendations for improvement.
Developed a comprehensive e-Commerce strategy for a branded apparel designer and manufacturer. The strategy, presented as a comprehensive business plan, addressed eight aspects including strategy, merchandising, customer support, supply chain, architecture, back office integration and support, capital, and property. The development of the strategy centered on a consensus building facilitated two day session utilizing Ernst & Young’s ASE (Advanced Solutions Environment). In a subsequent engagement, we were asked to manage the creation, development, and implementation of the electronic storefront (commerce website) based on Microsoft Site Server Commerce Edition 3.0, Customer Service operations (outsourced), and Distribution/Logistics operations (outsourced).
Facilitated a series of e-Commerce strategy sessions for the executive team of a well-known pocketknife, specialty tool, and watch company. The sessions focused on exploring opportunities to expand current capabilities of their B2C infrastructure to gain market share, drive efficiencies, and increase overall operational effectiveness. Additionally, the sessions examined B2B areas of focus, resulting in a strategic/tactical B2B strategy and plan.
Developed an implementation plan and strategy for the configuration and deployment of a new client-server based Circulation Information System to be installed in over 23 local and regional newspapers throughout the south-eastern portion of the United States. Specifically, the plan focused on the development of a proposed technical architecture, implementation team structure, systems interface architecture, implementation plan, rollout sequence, and overall project costs. In a subsequent engagement, provided project management assistance in helping the client establish a program management infrastructure, coordinate technical issues, and manage the implementation plans and efforts.
Developed an integrated set of implementation plans for a national chain of eyewear stores. The plan focused on the selection of a Point of Sale system for use at over 600 retail locations that will integrate with Oracle Order Entry and Inventory modules. Specifically, the plan addressed the development of a POS solution, the rollout and deployment of the POS solution at each retail location, and the implementation of Oracle’s Order Entry, Purchasing, and Inventory modules.
Developed a Strategic Information Systems Plan for a manufacturer of multi-media audio speakers for the computer industry. The plan addressed the enterprise-wide needs of the company including the corporate offices and functions in the US as well as the manufacturing/production locations in Hong Kong and Donguan, China. The plan focused on the re-alignment of business process in each of the facilities, the need for new integrated ERP systems, and a new hardware infrastructure to support the ERP systems and global communications.
Conducted an IT organization review and assessment of a $100 million Events Planning and Production company. The review assessed current capabilities of the IT organization to support the significant growth of the business, and make specific recommendations as to staffing, organization, and IT policies and practices to realign IT with the business.
Developed a Strategic Information Systems Plan for the largest Cooperative Buying Group in the electrical and plumbing distributors industry. The plan focused on developing a new Remittance Processing System that utilized state of the art technologies (internet, intranet, etc.) and incorporated business process improvements to maximize the efficiency daily processing between the distributors (members) and the vendors.
Developed a Strategic Information Systems Plan for a large Workers Union of over 600,000 members and retirees. The plan focused on in-sourcing of business critical systems from an expensive and inflexible outsourcing arrangement. In a subsequent engagement, detailed functional requirements were gathered and packaged in a RFP that was sent to potential software providers identified during the Strategic Information Systems Planning project. In a continuing engagement, a structured Software Selection project was conducted in which responses from the RFP were analyzed in conjunction with vendor scripted demonstrations to facilitate the client through the selection, negotiation, and acquisition of new hardware and software.
Served as the Implementation & Rollout Project Manager for the largest paper distribution company in North America. The project scope includes the implementation of SAP R/3 application software, organization policies, practices, and procedures to support Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, Financial Management, and Human Resources to over 120 locations across the US and Canada.
