SUMMARY:

Hard working individual, searching for a technical position within a manufacturing company, ideally closely with the production process. Passionate for manufacturing and designing/drafting with the operator in mind. Prefer a company with SolidWorks as the primary software.

SKILLS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drafting and Design

Design new parts from customer and company specifications with manufacturability and process capabilities in mind. Label sketches and features within a SolidWorks feature tree for better identification, and ease of automation. Prefer to use design tables to manage multiple configurations in SolidWorks.

Edit drawings per Engineering Change Orders and/or redlined drawings using SolidWorks or AutoCAD. Create SolidWorks models from current 2D part drawings.

Create in process drawings to aid operator at specific steps. Using process knowledge and operator feedback to improve design for standardization and more efficient production. Designed tooling and fixtures as needed.

Document Control / Process Writing

Create and maintain part numbers and Bills of Materials within inventory system. Follow standard operating procedure to approve documents.

Properly maintain documentation following ISO and ITAR procedures.

Create work orders/routers to be issued to the production floor.

Lean Practices and Implementation

Championed Lean events, creating more effect processes. Worked on a 5-year project to catalog fixtures and maintain inventory.

Aided in the redesign of the manufacturing floor layout at a previous company for better component flow through production, with OSHA regulations and lean manufacturing in mind.

VBA Automation

Used Visual Basic coding to automate SolidWorks drawing creation using KBMax program. Created multiple macros for Solidworks to save time. These include automating the PDF creation process, creating the file name and saving files in the appropriate location, per the company’s standards. Others updated the drawing format based on the configuration of the referenced part in the view. As well as simple ones to add dates, or update title blocks.

Capable of VBA within Excel as it applies to creating and maintaining design tables in SolidWorks.

Machining Capabilities

Verify sheet metal flat patterns and create DXF files. Load DXF files into Dr. Abe for Amada laser programing. Nest parts as needed for most efficient material utilization. Adjust laser path for most efficient cut times. Worked with press break for sheet metal. Worked with many different forming and finishing machines for fused fiberoptics (glass).
