PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Procurement intern

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (June 2016- July 2016)

Cost/Price Analysis to determine correct pricing.

Performed analysis for water requirements at Metro and saved $10000 as a result.

Perform surveys of other transit properties as necessary.

Helped with the fixed assets inventory of Metro.

Supply Chain Intern

Dr Reddy labs (July 2015- August 2015)

Worked with the continuous improvement team in determining the reasons for the cause of inventory pile up in the finished goods warehouse.

Applied Six Sigma tools such as FMEA, cause and effect analysis to improve the flow and reduce the inventory.

Assisted in savings of $10000 per month.

Industrial Engineering Intern

Integral Coach Factory (Jan 2013- July 2013)

Time studies (DTS) and motion studies (MTM and MOST) were done to analyze the details of the problems occurring in the assembly line that manufacture’s the springs used in the suspensions of a rail bogie (passenger car).

Optimized the process by incorporating standard work procedures. 5S workplace organization method was implemented to improve ergonomics of workers as well as to reduce the cycle time.

Improved design and optimized standard operating procedures resulted in increased production rate by 20%.

Designed structures which are ergonomically suitable for the workers to help them reduce effort.

Saved $5,000 by leading a six sigma project to eliminate helical compression springs defects over a 4 month period.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

University of Houston (Sep 2014- May 2016)

Tutored students and graded assignments, evaluated homework assignments and test papers in Industrial work measurement and materials and processes course

Saved $40,000 in a six sigma project to reduce defects in bead fill process over a 4 month period.

Coordinated with the quality engineer and operators to find the root causes and successfully implemented the solutions in the shop floor.

Defects were reduced by 50%.

PROJECTS

Quality inspection of infusion solutions using statistical process control techniques Spring 15

For identifying the defects, statistical analysis was done on the manufacturing process of infusion solutions.

Defects were identified using control charts and then solutions were given to achieve statistical control.

Optimizing the parking problem for the street of Marine Drive, Mumbai, India Fall 14

Investigated and identified the existing parking problem to optimize the available parking area.

The results indicated that parking allocation is dependent on different factors and the optimum solution was achieved only when the level of satisfaction was about 75%.
