A regenerative brake is a mechanism that reduces vehicle speed by converting some of its kinetic energy into another useful form of energy. Regenerative braking is used on hybrid gas/electric automobiles to recaup some of the energy lost during stopping.This energy saved in a battery and used later to power the motor whenever the car is in electric mode.For eg. Electrical regenerative brkes in railway vehicles feed the generated electricity back into the supply system.
