Knowledge & Skills
Electrical Power Engineering:
Emphasis of my education has been centered on electrical power engineering theory and its application to different systems, such as electrical and mechanical. Included with that, I have knowledge of estimation/probability theory, use of electronic test tools, Voltage/Current measurements, Protective Relays, Oscilloscope, and Function Generator.
Leadership:
Ability to organize teams in order to achieve goals with as much success as possible. Able to utilize time-management skills in a leadership position, such as coordinating meetings and setting project due dates. Ability to delegate and receive instructions.
Communication:
Excellent oral and written communication skills built from serving as a team leader for senior design project group. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Hardware/Software:
Software: Multisim, Advanced Design System, PSPICE, ETAP, PSCAD, MATLAB, CAD Software(beginner), SolidWorks(beginner), Microsoft Office.
Hardware Experience: Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Power tools, Soldering equipment, Technical wiring.
Languages:
English, Nepali, Spanish(intermediate)
Project Experience
Optimal Operation/Scheduling of DG/Storage (Senior Research Project)
In a team of five, found a solution for maximizing power being generated so the generation unit meets load demand requirements without over-generating or under-generating. Researched how to optimize the scheduling of generation and storage so that the required load demand is met while being cost-efficient from the utility and residential standpoint.
Water Temperature Control System
Designed and constructed a submersible temperature sensor and mechanical, servo-driven valve for a temperature control system, which was analyzed for specific criteria such as transfer equations, transient response and stability.
Dark/Light Sensor
Designed a system using a photo resistor that can detect the amount of light in a room and activates a LED to increase light output depending on the different light settings. Analyzed that the photo resistor is a real life application, for example a street light when it gets darker outside they begin to turn on.
