Follow the requirements of the NC General Statute to make the determination to issue or deny a permit. Run all the necessary checks through various databases on all permits to make the above determination. Review and interpret legal documentation and ensure adherence to mandates. Ensure the applicant provides all the necessary paperwork needed to make this determination. Notarize all necessary paperwork while applicant is in the office.
Determine the customer’s need for fingerprinting. Ensure the fingerprints get submitted electronically if required. Provide ink fingerprinting if required. Ensure upload of fingerprints to the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) and reconcile daily to ensure all prints uploaded. Ensure Sex Offenders prints are also uploaded and in ESOR.
Process the monies for civil fees. Ensure each transaction is entered and recorded on the appropriate paper with the date, check number and the amount of the check ensuring accuracy of data as well. Work closely with Headquarters to ensure civil paper is returned in a timely manner to them so that service of the paper in is compliance with the NC General Statute.
Ensure the correct determination is made whether or not to register a sex offender in accordance with the NC General Statute. Ensure the NC laws are enforced for the registration. Work closely with the field deputies for the verification process. Assist with the annual verification.
