Flexor Press Operator

• Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials and in-process production.

• Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards.

Finishing Rewinder Operator

• Rewind flexible packaging film from press rolls to smaller rolls according to customer specifications. Inspect printed film for accepted quality and complete the appropriate paperwork.

• Tends machine that winds paper from one roll to another to form compact rolls of specified footage or diameter prior to cutting: threads end of parent roll into feeding mechanism of machine and adjusts friction brake by hand to maintain tension of paper.

• Operate assigned equipment within company safety standards to slit and roll product according to customer specifications (winding direction, quantity of labels, size of cores, etc.).

• Calibrate Table top counters.

• Visually inspect labels for defects.

• Splice rolls together using scissor, tape, and splicing table, following customer splicing specifications.

• Set up multiple slitter units and slit down jobs.

• Set up the 100% visual inspection unit.

• Maintain the rewinder using the PM schedule.

• Slides rewind cores on shafts and starts machine.

• Verifies perforations, size, and alignment of rewind rolls.

• Adjusts machine, using hand tools.

• Removes wound roll from shaft and places it on conveyor.

• May cut defects from paper and splice cut ends together, using tape.

• Responsible for set-up and adjustments to the automatic packing line.

• Practice all environmental, health, and safety procedures, practices and policies. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately. Maintain a clean, safe work area; perform 5S duties and audits.

• Perform Line clearance - clean assign area by removing all products from the line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with complete order.

• Complete responsibility for slitting equipment operation. Set up and operate slitter; set knives, operate, and monitor slitting equipment.

• Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials.

• Locates job to be rewound and reviews specifications.

• Sets up and adjusts machine for operation. Inspects for quality while machine is operating and adjusts as necessary.

• Removes product from machine for packaging.

• Packages all products in appropriate containers.

• Label all packages for shipment and places in secure holding area.

• Ensures total quality through use of good manufacturing practice and company standard operating procedures.

• Places all scrap in appropriate container to ensure maximum security of product.
