PROJECTS
CAD Modeling Project
Utilized NX 8.5 to model and assemble the components of a pair of vice grips
Setup nodal mesh on individual parts and performed a FEM analysis on the pair of vice grips
Documented each step of the process and wrote a technical report on the process and how the simulation compared to real world application
Wind Tunnel Project
Designed, modeled, and built a wind tunnel for flow analysis
Performed a flow analysis in SolidWorks to be compared to the physical model
Utilized LabView VI with a pitot tube setup to collect data and compared it to the values obtained in the flow simulation
Ammunition Testing Project
Tested claims for expansion of several types of self-defense ammunition against sheets of 16-gauge steel
Used muzzle velocities provided by real world tests to calculate the forces and impact stress of the bullets to accurately predict which would penetrate the sheet of steel
Placed retrieved projectiles into a SEM to analyze where they began to fracture and expand if they worked successfully or to see why they failed if they did not expand
