Responsible for all aspects of the PlexArray® HT, our flagship surface plasmon resonance imaging system including hardware and software program management, consumables, R&D, financial modeling and forecasting, pricing, manufacturing, testing, BOM and inventory management, quality process, supply chain, product website, trade show exhibitions, and IP portfolio management. Also started the domestic marketing program for the contract research business, led operations strategy, strategic partnerships, business operations, strategic planning, and advised the CEO and other stakeholders in business strategy and vision.

Highlights:

• Pioneered significant changes in consumables that reduced two failure modes by nearly 100%, improved instrument sensitivity by 20%, and reduced customer lead times from 5 weeks to 1.5 weeks while reducing cost and inventory levels.

• Worked with suppliers to reduce upstream supply chain constraints. This resulted in over 60% reduction of key inventory lead times

• Developed a new purchasing and manufacturing schedule which reduced raw material inventory by more than a factor 3 by better coordinating supplier delivery with production schedules.

• Identified additional, unique sales channel for a major supplier and used this to propose and successfully negotiate favorable terms in a new OEM private labeling agreement.

• United the applications, engineering, marketing, and sales teams in US and Asia branches by launching and administering SharePoint

• Wrote company strategic plan, business plan, and pro-forma financial statements for series A capital raise.

Led the engineering programs for the flagship surface plasmon resonance imaging system. Led the transformation of the small angle x-ray scattering beamline into one of the busiest and most reliable beamlines at the Center. Increased capabilities by upgrading hardware and software and significantly expanded user base though better marketing and service.

Research Associate Transducer/Seismometer Development Louisiana State University Baton Rouge, LA 2003 - 2006

Designed and built superconducting circuit prototype for the inductance modulated gravitational wave transducer. Characterized superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) noise and performance. Led the development of two broadband, force balance seismometers for operation in a vacuum environment. Created and optimized the feedback loops, machined the hardware, designed the electronics, and wrote the control software.

College Park, MD 2000 - 2003

Developed a novel inductance modulated, cryogenic, dual SQUID transducer for the ALLEGRO resonant-mass gravitational wave antenna. Designed the mechanical resonators, superconducting circuitry, and electrical housing.
