•Led diligence efforts on more than 15 potential acquisitions including a London-based brokerage firm. Expanded firm footprint and support growth of businesses through acquisitions. Result: Closed 4 of these acquisitions and initiated an international presence.
•Initiated a $4.5 million data warehouse project to streamline and standardize information flow between business units. Eliminated multiple versions of the same report. Result: Enhanced financial and operational reporting and restored creditability to this reporting.
•Reduced monthly financial close process to 2 days from 5 days while maintaining the integrity of “actual” data versus employing estimates. Utilized technology and automation to replace manual processes. Result: Actual financial data available to assess the monthly activity and enhance business decisions.
•Developed relationships with credit facilitators (4) adding more than $225 million of additional capacity. Allowed for additional inventory capacity for Fixed Income Division. Result: Trading profits increased approximately 17% year-over-year.
•Standardized the compensation structure for salesman and traders to facilitate consistency and transparency in the respective payouts. Eliminated subjectivity in the compensation calculation. Result: Increased productivity by eliminating the subjectivity and resulted in $350,000 cost savings in the first year of implementation.
