AMEX-CPS (American Express – Corporate Payment Services), a project of Corporate Payment Services issues Corporate Cards to Corporate Customers. The card transaction data is collected by TSYS (Total Systems) Mainframe then sent to CPS Mainframe then comes to Oracle database. We ensure that the data was properly imported into the database. The Corporate Customers then use the reporting tool to generate reports for tracking the transactions done by the employees. Along with this Data processing and reporting there are 40 other applications maintained to support Corporate Payment Services which enables Corporate Payment Services to keep track of their business, clients manage them efficiently. As a part of DBA team we have to support there databases for high availability. Following are the accomplishments/achievements

Installing and creating 11gR2 RAC (11.2.0.2.0) database on ASM.

Database upgrade from 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.4 and upgrading from 10.2.0.4 to 11g (11.2.0.2.0) using DBUA utility and also using the manual upgrade technique.

Implemented standard monitoring scripts, making modifications necessary to work in RAC and stand alone environment.

Planned and implemented PSU patches on a number of different database versions.

Creation of Project QA and development environments, using cloning, expdp/impdp, normal export/import and edited DDL scripts to generate smaller versions of the production environment.

Development of Shell scripts for Implementation of hot backups across all databases and emailed alert notifications to assist 24x7 operations.
