Build community through research, design and implementation of economic development programs such as building rehabilitation grants, parking studies, and events and marketing. Develop community partnerships by liaising with businesses, local government, community groups, and educational institutions. Manage all day-to-day office activities including preparing reports, communications, staffing, and budget development.
Designed and implemented a Historic Building Rehabilitation Grant Program, providing $112,000 in match grants to private business partners, that has resulted in $316,000 in private investments, 80 new jobs and increased building stock and property values in the downtown since 2011.
Collaborated with Community Partners including the Washtenaw County Eastern Leaders Group, Eastern Michigan University, Ann Arbor SPARK, and the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional Chamber of Commerce to research and address community needs and created programs to address such as the Ypsilanti Business Pop-Up Business Incubator Program, Downtown Real Estate Marketing Program, and the Border to Border Trail Project.
Successfully developed, lobbied for, and received the approval of a 25 year extension of the Depot Town Tax Increment Financing and Development plan from local taxing jurisdictions.
Acted as the direct contact with area stakeholders for the Development Authority and facilitated all of our community engagement efforts.
