Projects
Treble: Capstone Design Project, 2015
● Design Lead and chief Solidworks drafter for an innovative physics teaching tool called “Treble”
● “Treble” is a trebuchet kit that students assemble and experiment with themselves to become more knowledgeable of physical concepts relevant to mechanical systems
● Each kit comes with lasercut wooden members, custom 3D printed fasteners, counterweight, sling, projectile, and an attractive booklet that provides instructions for assembly and equations that will help optimize their trebuchet
Measuring Wheel Design: Mechanical Assemblies Final Design Project, 2015
● Designed a measuring wheel intended for measuring textiles along nonuniform surfaces
● Final proof of concept resulted from careful analysis of end user needs, relevant standards, material testing, existing patents and manufacturing costs
Project Beach Cruiser: Solidworks Design Project, 2015
● Team member of the Frame Subsystem
● Designed the frame for a beach cruiser style bike in Solidworks
● Coordinated the design of junctions with other subsystem members
● Performed GD&T for the final assembly
Work Experience
Fuel Subsystem Design Lead: Brown University Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) (Providence, RI), Sep. 2014 – Dec. 2015
● Analyzed previous fuel system designs and identified issues as well as success factors
● Redesigned with FSAE rules and previous analysis in mind
● Quantitatively demonstrated that fuel system design improved upon previous models with a strong focus on slosh mitigation within the fuel tank
● Produced Solidworks models and drawings, ordered stock and relevant materials, and supervised manufacturing processed while remaining within budget
● Ensured every component successfully mounted onto chassis and complied with all FSAE rules
● Pioneered an emphasis on physical and analytical testing for the Fuel Subsystem
● Decreased cost of manufacture by 32% for the 2014 2015 fiscal year ENGN 0030 Design Mentor: Brown University School of Engineering (Providence, RI), Aug. 2014 – Dec. 2014
● Mentored two diverse groups of engineering undergraduate students
● Held electronic design, woodworking, metalworking, 3D printing, and Solidworks workshops
● Helped students who had homework or project related questions
● Fostered a sense of community within the engineering department Matlab Advisor: Brown University Dept. of Applied Math (Providence, RI), Sep. 2013 – Jan. 2014
● Contributed Matlab code examples and explanations to course Matlab tutorial
● Aided students with Matlab homework and projects Volunteer Experience
