Work Experience:
April. 2013- March 2015 Pace Industries in Maple Lake, MN Supervisor: Terri Jackson Ph. #320-***-**** Salary: start $13.00 - end $14.30
I started working at Pace, operating magnesium die-casting mold presses on the 2nd shift, in hopes of eventually moving into their distribution area and make a career of it, but was laid off in a 20% company layoff. I returned to doing tile contracting but really want to get back to something I have so much experience in, managing distribution of wholesale product.
2012- 2016 Drew P.'s Tile in Montrose, MN
Owner/ Operator Ph. # 763-***-****
Salary Varied: $15.00- $25.00
I started my business in early 2012 because there were many opportunities and jobs at the time, and still do side jobs from time to time, but find it hard to make ends meet when the jobs are not there. I am looking to get back into a Management position that has benefits and a weekly/ bi-weekly paycheck with the possibility of making a career of it and do not wish to pursue tile contracting any longer.
2011- 2012 Architectural Enhancement in Annandale, MN
Supervisor: Will Christiansen Ph. # 302-***-****
Salary: $12.00-$13.00
My employment at Architectural Enhancements involved all aspects of warehousing including shipping, receiving, production of product using raw materials from our stock, forklift use, monthly running inventory, setting up displays, keeping a clean, safe working area and customer will-call. I also did customer service, answering phones, taking orders and placing them on the computer, showroom sales and participating in classes offered by our company on the "HOW TO's" with our product line. I loved working with this company, however my position was eliminated due to the owner passing away in a helicopter crash. The owner's brother and son decided to liquidate the company as they had several companies to run up in the Walker, MN area and didn't see it being feasible to keep our company in Annandale,MN open.
2009- 2011 Creative Staffing Solutions Supervisor : Rose Ph. # 763-***-**** Salary : Varied
My employment with Creative Staffing consisted of manufacturing and machine operator positions in the metal fabrication fields. I worked at Arctic Fox in Delano, MN for approximately 5 months and also at Izza Bending Tubing and Wire Inc. in Buffalo,MN - both positions being in the metal fabrication fields.
2007- 2011 The Work Connection Supervisor : Michelle Ph. # 763-***-**** Salary : Varied
At the Work Connection, I had various jobs and performed various duties. Most jobs given to me were warehousing/ production/ assembly related and were of non-specific length of employment. I appreciate the fact that they had found work for me in those tough economic times, but wanted to find permanent employment in the distribution of wholesale product that I have so much experience in.
2001-2006 Tile by Design located in Plymouth, MN
Supervisor : Robb Zelazny Ph. # 763-***-****
Salary : $13.50-$15.75
We sold tile wholesale to contractors and retail to private citizens at Tile by Design, I worked in the warehouse, pulling customers orders and palletizing them or cartoning them, depending on the size of the order, for will-call pick up. I also did shipping and receiving, will-call data entry of new and existing customer orders, some purchasing of special order materials, and also some sales while working as warehouse lead at our Burnsville location. I worked very closely with our base clientele and they greatly appreciated my personal attention given to any problems they might be experiencing, in order to remedy any concerns they might have had. In shipping and receiving, I would check in the incoming material, insuring that it was the correct product and that there was no damage, taking proper actions in any of these cases and then entering material into our stock data-base. I shipped U.P.S., Fed-Ex, Spee-Dee Delivery, LTL, and truckload. I have shipped product to Italy and Canada, so I know proper procedures for shipping abroad.
Other duties as warehouse lead person included keeping a running inventory on in-stock product, and ordering more to keep shelves fully stocked to insure customer satisfaction of having "in-stock" material on hand.
1996-2001 Kate-Lo Tile Inc. located in Plymouth, MN
Supervisor : Kenny Brown Ph. # 763-***-****
Salary : $10.00-$13.00
During my employment at Kate-Lo Tile selling wholesale to contractors, I worked both sides of will-call. I would enter customer orders into the computer and also would pull orders for customer pick up via will-call. I did receiving at the Plymouth location also. I was given the assignment of warehouse lead for our Burnsville location for approximately 1 year and was then asked to return to the Plymouth location due to a high turnover rate that they were experiencing. Upon my return, I continued working in the warehouse and eventually was asked to help in the purchasing dept.
1990-1996 Dal-Tile located in Plymouth, MN
Supervisor: Kevin Callahan Ph. # 763-***-****
Salary: $8.00- $12.00
While employed at Dal-Tile selling tile wholesale to contractors and retail to the public, I started in the shipping dept. and after 6 months of employment was promoted to Shipping Manager. My responsibilities were to receive all incoming materials, checking for discrepancies, and calling customers to inform them of "special order" material arrival and putting stock material in their specified locations. I did all logistics required, setting up all incoming and outgoing shipments per customer approval and employer specs. I always found the best, fastest, and most economical (cheapest) way as to insure that my company and our customers would be pleased with the cost. I was then promoted to Will-Call (city desk), taking and placing customer orders via the Oracle system, and then staging those orders for customer pick-up. I would load customers and delivery drivers by hand or forklift, whichever the specific job would call for. After 4 years of employment, I was promoted to Warehouse Lead and took on all warehouse responsibilities including cycle counts, ordering stock materials, relegating employee responsibilities, reporting to Management all aspects of daily warehouse activity, etc.
Certifications/ Experience : ...20 + years experience. OSHA forklift certified at 4 separate companies with various types of forklifts including gas/propane sit-downs, reach lifts, cherry-pickers, and hand driven electric pallet jacks. Computer Data-entry with Windows, Excel, Oracle, Microsoft Office, and Power Point to name a few. Also have used U.P.S, Spee-Dee and Fed-Ex computer software, as well as facsimile, copier machines and phone systems. I've operated over-head hydraulic hoists in different sizes, pallet wrapping machines and scales, labeling machines, RF scanner for SKU's, voice identification headset, and banding equipment. I have been through " Kaizen" training and also LEAN training seminars for optimum performance at the workplace. While employed at three different businesses and working as warehouse/shipping/rec. Manager, I would schedule incoming and outgoing transit of our product via LTL and truckload, making sure our carriers were giving us the very best rates ( most between 60-80% discount ) and passing some of those savings onto our customers while also checking all incoming product for damage or if the purchase orders matched what was being received. I would check the quality of the product being received and report my findings to the appropriate salesperson or supervisor. I also did a daily cycle count to keep a running inventory of what was on hand and scheduling to order more at the appropriate time as not to run out.
