EXPERIENCE:

10/2015-12/2015 Volunteer Service Overseas- ICS Volunteer I was involved in a three months development programme in a local community (Kwali Abuja). During the course of my involvement in the programme I successfully participated in the planning and organizing of 6 community wide programmes, 3 of which where health based (World Diabetes day, World HIV day, World Sanitation day). Duiring which health talks where done and carrying out of clinical tests like HIV, blood sugar, BMI, Blood Pressure among others. This was done in collaboration with some other health organisations I also had the opportunity of facilitating a 3 hour long informative session on a global issue ‘corruption’, and co- facilitated on ‘The Learning Disabilities in Children’ during one of our conferences specifically Teachers Conference hosting over 500 teachers for 2 days. I was involved in monitoring and evaluation of the teams activities as I wrote and submitted proper reports on all of our activities and progresses. Was also a co-facilaitator with a UK counterpart for an inclusive neighborhood space that had over 40 individuals for 8 weeks. We were involved in promoting healthy living throughout our stay in the community. Some of the skills we had to have to successfully run the programme where problem solving skills, Facilitation skills, Event planning skills, leadership skills Problem solving skills, Communication public speaking skills, Team work skills, Media skills and Fund raising skills. We also engaged in a humanitarian services known as back to school project where children out of school were supported back to school were carried out in the period of the programme.
