BEng Computer Hardware and Software Engineering July 2013
Relevant Experience:
-MoodMe Internship – Android Application developer Spring 2016
Animated Life Portraits using image filters APIs for a video sharing application.
Porting a beta phase iOS version of an application to android.
Designed and implemented application user interface functionality in XML and Java.
Academic Projects:
-University of Saint Andrews, Scotland, UK Target Tracking Remote Controlled Robotic Vehicle 2014
This was a sole effort project, designing, implementing and programming a hardware and software system architecture for a low powered robotic vehicle with the following features:
A well-designed hardware and software miniature robotic vehicle that considers power consumption needs of sensors and actuators of the system.
A graphic user interface that houses the controls (directional movement and speed settings) the robotic vehicle
A near real time image target tracking interface that is incorporated into the GUI allowing for conventional degree of freedom movement using wireless serial communication between GUI and robotic vehicle using Xbees.
-Coventry University, Midlands, UK Autonomous Scout Robot Vehicle and Distance Range Finder Fall 2012 – Spring 2013
This was a sole effort project, designing, implementing and programming an autonomous scout robot vehicle, which serves as part of a four robot swarm team by:
Designing both hardware and software aspects of a robotic vehicle with circuitry that considers the power consumption needs of sensors, radio module and actuators of the system.
Implementing and programming a wireless serial communication using Xbees, to relay messages based on findings in the scout’s environment.
This was two man group project designing, and implementing a distance range finder using a ultrasonic range finder:
Designing both hardware and software aspects of a device that incorporates the use of an ultrasonic sensor and LCD display module for relatively accurate distance measurement using a programmable microcontroller.
-University of St Andrews, Scotland, UK Mobile Pre-surgical Checklist Management System 2015
This was a sole effort project, developing an android mobile application that facilitates the following:
Scheduling of patient treatment; Input facilities for answering the checklist questions.
Auto-generates required pre-surgical checklists questions, specific to procedure to be performed per patient.
A database that records authorised user inputs for the checklist and scheduling creating an accountability system in the application via automatically recording user identity as well as a time stamp on any updates.
