Clinical Education/Experience

All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore (2012-2014)

As a Post-Grad student, conducted assessments and established appropriate diagnoses and referrals for individuals with a wide variety of communication disorders.

Clocked 2087 hours for pediatric population and 1169 hours for adult population in evaluation and therapeutic management and 662 hours of clinical observation.

Developed and implemented individual treatment plans for clients with various communication disorders (Child Language Disorders, Adult Language Disorders,Voice Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Articulation Disorders,, and Motor Speech Disorders).

Collaborated with occupational, physical and behavior therapy teams to provide treatment for clients.

Convened with parents to discuss children’s development and further therapy goals and objectives.

Conducted speech and hearing screenings to identify children in need of further diagnostic evaluations.

Clinical guidance to students to the first year B.Sc (Speech and Hearing) students.

Engaged as a member in National Service Scheme (NSS) special camp by University of Mysore in Lakshadweep and Mandhya Pradesh which included survey in the area of Lakhaweep, Madhya Pradesh determining the incidence and prevalence of communication disorders in the area and providing rehabilitation services.

Udupi District hospital, Chamaraja nagar District hospital and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education Research (JIPMER) (2011-2012)

As an Intern, identified and assessed children and Adults requiring immediate speech-language intervention and hands on therapy was provided to them.

As an Intern, administered appropriate diagnostic test batteries: Pure Tone Audiometry, Speech Audiometry, Immittance Audiometry, Behavioral Observation Audiometry and carried out suitable intervention plans for individuals with hearing impairment by providing the appropriate hearing aids.

Also engaged in the infant screening for the early detection of hearing impairment

AIIH (2008-2012)

As a Student and Intern, learnt to identify the nature and degree of hearing loss in patients of all ages, by performing a battery of tests: Pure Tone Audiometry, Speech Audiometry, Immittance Audiometry, and Behavioural Observation Audiometry.

Learnt to perform appropriate evaluations and establish accurate diagnoses and to develop and implement individual treatment plans for a variety of Communication disorders

Work Experience

Research officer, AIISH (2014-2015)

As a research officer (project titled Development and validation of a computerized screening tool for infant cry analysis) carried out neonatal screening which dealt with the administration of High Risk Register (HRR), administration of screening OAE, Behavioural audiometry, and assessment of normal reflexes in the neonates and recording of cry samples of both normal and high risk new-borns. Acoustic analyses of infant cry samples using software and reports were prepared.

Along with that as part of clinical duty, conducted assessments and established appropriate diagnoses and referrals for individuals with a wide variety of communication disorders. And developed and implemented individual treatment plans for clients with various communication disorders.
