- Scrub Nurse: assists the surgeons during operation, help the surgeon directly by controlling bleeding, exposing the wound or suturing, handle dressings, instruments and other items and observes aseptic technique in doing procedures. In-charge in ensuring the completeness of the sponges, instruments and needle count all throughout the operation.

- Circulating Nurse: works outside the sterile field and ensures safety of the patient within the period of operation. Acts as an advocate while the patient is under the influence of anesthesia.

- Responsible in the preparation of supplies and instruments to be used in the operation and ensures availability of functioning instruments or equipment at all times.

- Verifying with surgeon for additional special instruments needed for the procedure.

- Ensure smooth functioning of the assigned cases pre-operative, intra-operative and post- operative.

- Adheres strictly to proper procedure in cleaning and reprocessing for sterilization of instruments.

- Evaluates medical supplies needed for medical treatment.

- Responsible in monitoring and documentation of used supplies for accounting and billing purposes.

- Maintains cleanliness and disinfection of the Operating Room Complex.

- PACU: Responsible in assessing the patient’s condition by checking the vital signs of the patient, checking for any signs of pain, monitoring the patient’s respiration.

- Responsible for changing the dressing of the patient and ensuring the cleanliness of the surgical wound as to avoid any sort of infections.

- Gathering as much information about the pre-surgery condition of the patient and prepare a suitable care plan.

- Rousing the patient from anesthesia after the patient has been operated upon.

- Keeping a close record of all the status of the patient and inform the respective doctor in case of any complications and abnormalities.

- Receive endorsements from previous shift.

- Participate in department meetings and Staff Development Programs.
