Project Highlights

Contract with Social Security Administration (SSA) to support and maintain DDAP (Division of Disability Appeals Processing), CPMS (Case Processing Management System) and Legal Analysis Workload System (LAWS).

My responsibilities include supporting of the Database Application Development Branch (DADB) system including maintenance, development and testing of the following applications:

Data Generation System (DGS) CICS/DB2 back-end programs;

CPMS Query CICS/DB2 back-end programs;

CPMS TA (Table Administration) CICS/DB2 programs.

May 2015 – October 2015: CMS, Baltimore, MD

Position: Contractor Sr. Cobol/DB2 Programmer. Contract with Lockheed Martin IT.

Project Highlights

Contract with Social Security Administration (SSA) to support and maintain CATF (Control and Audit Test Facility) system.

My responsibilities included maintenance, development and testing of the CATF system using COBOL, JCL and TSO/ISPF.

My assignments included:

Running daily and monthly data sets backup jobs and updating Excel spreadsheet with statistics;

Creating address data reports by request of SSA OSCAR (Onsite Security Control and Audit Review) office/component. The reports were used to conduct reviews and included MBR (Master Beneficiary Record), Title 2 ORSIS address data and MES (Modernized Enumeration System);

Creating monthly exception reports for Operational Support Units (OSU);

Updating, compiling and testing of Supplemental Security Record (SSR) COBOL programs.

Designed and developed:

oA new REXX program to create a list of monthly backup data sets. It helped to avoid manual errors when updating the existing CATF jobs and saved maintenance time;

oA new SAS program to generate the missing backup report;

oNew reports using the Vision: Results Report Writer.

August 2008 – December 2014: DB NET, Linthicum, MD

Position: Contractor Sr. Cobol/DB2 Programmer. Contract with IBM IT.

Project Highlights

Contract with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to maintain RAS (Risk Adjustment System) and RAPS (Risk Adjustment Processing System). The systems process Medicare part A, B, C and DME claims data.

My responsibilities include maintenance, development and testing of the RAPS system using COBOL, JCL, DB2, TSO/ISPF and Endeavor.

I was involved in development of requirements, design, programming, testing and development of system documentation for ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision) project.

For this project I was closely involved in creating new complex job schedules and in automation of existing jobs. I set up new NDM processes, performed unit and system testing, worked closely with CMS NDM and scheduling teams as well as with other partners. I created scheduling flowcharts using Microsoft Office VISIO. While researching tools and utilities for my programming assignments I learned basics of REXX and CLIST. My assignments included:

Writing new programs and maintaining existing COBOL programs based on user requirements;

Developing DB2 Stored Procedures to update DB2 tables;

Downloading and retrieving DB2 data using BMC and IBM utilities;

Writing SQL queries to validate or research test and production data using BMC and IBM utilities;

Performing data validation using Excel macros.

October 2006 – April 2008: TEK Systems, Woodlawn, MD

Position: Contractor Programmer/Analyst. Contract with Northrop Grumman IT.

Project Highlights

Contract with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to maintain Medicare Beneficiary Database system (MBD).

Designed, developed and maintained the Environment Management Support (EMS) Microsoft SQL Server Access database to control and schedule life cycle test activities.

As a member of the testing team I was involved in integration testing of the consolidated CMS inquiry system. My responsibilities included creation of new test cases, maintaining Oracle test database, creation of test data, creating and executing queries to validate results. In order to perform these tasks I had to communicate and coordinate testing activities with developers, business analysts and end-users.

Maintained infrastructure for project development and testing including DB2, Oracle, CICS, MQ Series and Endeavor.

March 2006 – October 2006: APEX Systems, Woodlawn, MD

Position: Contractor Programmer/Analyst/ Contract with Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Project Highlights

Contract with Social Security Administration to develop business documentation of Social Security Administration Account Receivable System.

My assignment was to perform analysis of Returned Check Action (REACT) Processing Operation business processes. My responsibilities include:

Interviewing SSA business analysts and programmers to get relevant information about the process.

Translating COBOL program source code into business requirements.
