Good base knowledge of embedded software engineering and how to work with hardware PROJECTS

With my startup company, I have worked on developing several products based on my own original ideas, and have begun the patent process with several of them. Each has involved considerable software development (and in some instances hardware innovations), aimed at making better use of developing technologies to make a bigger difference in people's lives. Integrated building automation system, designed to control multiple subsystems including lighting, HVAC, security, sound systems, etc., controlling all systems in an integrated, consistent, flexible and expandable way, using wall-mounted touch screens, a web interface employing hierarchical navigation, smart sensors and actuators with embedded microcontrollers. The system uses many web technologies including HTML5, RESTful APIs, server-sent events, SQL databases, and python server-side scripting (no PHP). I have built a partial prototype for this project and developed a business plan. (Unpublished USPTO #62/058,656; copy available upon request.) 2013-2015. Software-based audio mixer for live performance venues, a PC software program for processing live audio signals for live sound, studio monitoring, and PA systems, etc. It is the first easy way to incorporate effect plugins into a live performance and provides more routing versatility than any digital mixer on the market. The user interface consists of a signal flow diagram of modules and connectors, making the signal path easy to see (rather than relying on descriptions in the documentation). The mixer uses VST (Virtual Studio Technology) effect plugins and IP audio.

(Unpublished USPTO #62/076,130; copy available upon request.) 2012-2015. Guitar effects system, consisting of effect units connected together by Ethernet. The audio and control signals travel through the network links, replacing analog audio and MIDI connections commonly found on such systems, thus providing the flexibility and repeatability of digital control, memory, etc., while still providing the sound quality afforded by analog circuitry, still strongly preferred by musicians. This system makes use of web technologies to replace outdated binary protocols. It is implemented in embedded microcontrollers. (Unpublished USPTO #62/041,245; copy available upon request.) 2012-2015

Automated system for cleaning beer tap lines . The system would replace the cumbersome and expensive manual process still in use in most establishments, using sensor-controlled valves to flush, wash, rinse and dry the lines.
