PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

HP ENTERPRISE SERVICES (HEWLETT PACKARD), Herndon, VA 2009 – 2015 Solution Architect/Enterprise Architect/Architect Team Lead for Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) Started as Solution Architect but promoted to an Enterprise Architect position then awarded Architect Team Lead of five Architects. This DHS account is part of the DHS strategy to migrate DHS Component data centers into two geographically diverse, physically secure, and scalable Enterprise Data Centers. HP provides one of these two Enterprise Data Centers and deploys projects into the second data center. DHS/Component work requests are for projects to stand up new applications or migrate existing applications from Component data centers. As Architect Team Lead one of the responsibilities was to balance work requests/proposals across the team due to the large quantity of requests along with the complexity of a request. Another responsibility was to review the final proposals from an Infrastructure Architecture solution view.

Authored a broad mix of small to large project solutions as part of many proposals worth $450M+ total contract value.

Kept up to date on various new technologies from vendors covering network, storage, and server areas. Coordinated a team that created a new data center roadmap that included migration plans. Presented it with my Engineering Manager to several data center and Account Managers.

Provided strong technical direction to various technical data center personnel/groups as part of project solution white boarding/design explanation process.

In 2014 coordinated and used collaboration to create a comprehensive document identifying an ongoing IT Data Center technical roadmap. This roadmap covers Data Center Tools, Security, Network, Storage, Compute/Servers/Virtualization, and Backup and Recovery.

Reviewed details supporting the As a Services Solution and design requirements for Email as a Service (EaaS), SharePoint as a Service (SPTaaS), Case Relationship Management as a Service (CRMaaS), Dev/Test as a Service (DTaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Backup as a Service (BURaaS). Reviews reduced costs by over $300K by standardizing hardware solutions.

Participated in Cloud offering developments for Dev/Test as a Service (DTaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). These included Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) design and operational support, VMware vSphere/ESXi, VMware Horizon with View, VMware ThinApp, vMotion and vCenter Operations Manager.

Development of Windows and Linux enterprise service oriented architecture solutions, virtual infrastructure, enterprise applications and systems to include design, analysis and modeling at a high technical level; analyzed complex computer system requirements and provided implementation recommendations.

Improved Infrastructure Solution/Proposal documentation standards/templates to promote quality/consistency, adhered to ISO 20000 processes and supported reuse. EDS CORPORATION (BECAME EDS, AN HP COMPANY) 2000 - 2009 Chief Architect/Architect Team Manager (2006-2009), Colorado Springs Led the solution definition, development, deployment, and evolution of complex information systems for all US EDS internal business application requirements.

Represented internal EDS IT group on SOA, Enterprise Service Management and other enterprise application projects. Successfully led a large EDS project that loaded all internal EDS business servers and other major configuration items into the corporation CMDB. This CMDB project saved EDS more than $200K from hardware refresh/decommission plans along with significant labor hours savings by using a common CMDB.

Standardized solution cost models with focus on reducing costs while adhering to technology standards.

Developed innovative architecture solutions for all internal EDS US Data Center Services requests.
