“COMPARATIVE STUDY OF CALIFORNIA BEARING RATIO STRENGTH AND UNCONFINED

COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH USING BLACK COTTON SOIL”

DESCRIPTION:

It is geotechnical engineering project. We used black cotton soil in our project, black cotton soil is problematic in construction buildings and road ways.

The main problems of black cotton soil are:

* Cracks in the buildings due to volume changes.

* Highly compressible.

* Swelling, shrinkage.

* High plasticity and low shear strength and settlement.

* The structures becomes unstable

So that we added 5% of industrial waste like lime, fly ash, ggbs with black cotton soil and finding geotechnical properties.

Improving the shear strength and finally we got ggbs & fly ash are best so we can use BCS with ggbs or fly ash for sub grade or sub base roads.

And economic point of view fly ash is best
