Career Highlights –

1.Led engineering team which developed the first steering wheel column mounted electrical continuity “clockspring” and first switch assembly in North America for a marine application ( Sea Ray ).

2.Led engineering team which developed 7 instrument panel switches for the first Japanese switch customer ( Mitsubishi ).

3.Led 6 Sigma team which developed cost avoidance algorithm for reducing mold cost using regression analysis through 6 Sigma methodologies.

Promoted to : Senior Project Engineer (1993 – 2001)

Primary Function : Manage multiple design projects and supervise the engineering team in the product development cycle and monitor / perform activities associated with design, validation testing and manufacture of electro-mechanical, products and systems to ensure new products are delivered on time and meet customer reliability, cost, documentation and quality launch initiatives.

Promoted to: Project Engineer I (1989 - 1993)

Primary Function: Design new switch products using CAD and manage new product projects through all life-cycle phases from concept development to prototype through design validation and in to production implementation, as well as present product improvements.

Position Held: Product Engineer II (1984 - 1993)

Primary Function:CAD design and detail of electro-mechanical controls (automotive switches and consumer appliance controls).

Responsibilities included but not limited to the following:

Develop and present the initial program designs, prototyping, validation, manufacturing, cost and timing proposals to customers.

Create as well as maintain formal project timing charts with resource and budget requirements.

Develop and monitor test plan for product design verification during prototype and production phases. Conduct formal review of test results then develop and implement any improvement action plans that may be required prior to PPAP submittal.

Negotiating with customers to define detail requirements. Participate in team feasibility studies, and translate them in to detailed engineering and testing specifications and requirements.

Resolve all product / project and customer related issues whenever and wherever required ( including suppliers facilities, Delphi assembly plants and customer engineering / assembly facilities in US, Canada, Mexico and Japan ) during all program phases, as well as continuous process / product and cost improvement initiatives in both a cross-function team oriented problem solving ( TOPS ) and individual environment.

This position required a strong working knowledge of the following:

Machining and tooling capabilities and manufacturing processes such as injection molding of thermoplastics and the forming of

metal products as well as their mechanical and electrical properties. PC Boards, DC circuits and product illumination which included LED’s, incandescent lamps. Switch testing procedures and equipment (pneumatic cylinders, fixtures and servo motors).

Received formal training, both in-house and outsourced, of automotive industry practices such as

GD&T, VA / VE, DFM, DFMEA, DOE, QS9000, APQP, PPAP, and 6 Sigma.

Basic computer skills: Microsoft – Project, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Excel (including Lotus).

3D CAD hands on experience include CATIA 4 & 5 and 2D Medusa CAD.
