September 11 2000 E. W. Scripps

To February 23 2016 Started as a second shift operator supporting the backup environment, and supporting users and applications. I moved to day shift as a systems administrator working on several data center creation and data center move projects. Managed the Scripps primary and disaster recovery

data centers . Designed, implemented, and migrated our three different Backup environments

to one NetBackup environment that supported Windows, Linux and Solaris. I managed the

shared storage environments and most of the SAN configurations and support. My SAN

management experience includes HP MA8000 SANs, EMC Symmetrix, Hitachi 9585 and

AMS2100, EMC VNX5700, EMC XtremIO and VNX5200. I have worked with HP, McData and

Brocade Fiber Channel switches. I also installed and implemented our Shavlik Windows patching

system and performed most of the server patching. I served as point person to turn over the

patching and backup environments to Logicalis, I then served as Logicalis’ primary contact for

the Scripps backup and Windows patching work. In 2001 we started using Active Directory, I built many of the domain Controllers that we installed out at TV Station and Newspaper business units, I also did a lot of the AD management of users and servers. In 2006 we started migrating several servers to VMWare, I did a lot of the work to migrate from Physical servers to VMWare, I also created a lot of the Windows and Linux VMs.

June 96 to Omega Automation

September Provided support for computers in 4 separate divisions. Responsibilities ranged from assisting

2000 users with office software, AutoCAD and the accounting system, to network and hardware support to create an Intranet between the three buildings. A partial list of projects includes migrating users away from Macintosh and Windows 3.1 to Windows NT and Windows 98 environments. Upgrading 3 Netware 3.0 servers to Netware 3.12 then Netware 5 and building an NT Domain. Replacing the existing Real World Accounting system with MAS90cs client server accounting system. Upgrading AutoCAD 11 to AutoCAD 14 then AutoCAD 2000i including extensive customization to integrate AutoCAD with other applications to support design, purchasing and scheduling work on the various machines for customers. I was involved in some of the systems that we designed and built for customers. Performed a companywide Y2K assessment, upgrading hardware and software to avoid any issues

April 92 to Micro One Inc.

June 96 I actually started working here on some Saturdays in June of 1990 but switched to full time in April of 92. Performed Service work both in house and at customers’ sites, and installed and maintained almost all of the multi-user environments sold. These included Novell Netware, Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, Windows 95, LANtastic and a couple of Unix flavors.

April 82 to Update (Update Corporation later the name became Update Systems Midwest Inc.)

April 92 I started out as a field service technician mostly working on dedicated word Processing equipment manufactured by CPT. Then moved into a project to design and build some equipment for the US Government, after the design, build and testing was complete I did almost all of the installations and maintenance. Then was in involved in installing and supporting many Unix and Novell Netware related products.

June 81 to WAVI Broadcasting Company

April 82 Responsibilities included maintenance of all air and production studio equipment. This included tape decks, Turntables and mixing consoles. I was also the backup to the chief engineer assisting with maintenance to transmitting equipment.

Certifications I have no current certifications but over the years I have tested and earn many certifications that may or may not have any significance to you-

FCC Second Phone- This I got while in high school and it expired

Novell CNE- I had 2 of these one when I was at Update and the other while at Micro One

LANtastic Support- I got this while at Micro One

MCSE- I had 2 of these both are old enough not to matter MCSE for Windows NT and 2000
