Director of personnel,

Who am I? I am a driven and passionate individual who wants to be a part of a team in a successful company in order to stretch my skills and myself as well as inspire others. I am a problem solver who loves a good challenge.

I started with computers sitting at my dad’s hand-built Apple ][+ entering code from magazines and teaching myself BASIC at 10-years-old. Since then my passion has been computer technology of all types. I have always built my computers from parts whenever possible and do not own a piece of electronics that I have not taken apart for some reason. Having some familiarity with a wide variety of computer technologies from a young age has enabled me to learn very quickly. Completing my degree in computer engineering has further broadened my knowledge.

My work experience has always moved me to learn more about networking on layer 2 and 3, involving TCP/IP setup, router and switch setup, and maintenance. At Williamson-Dickies I was the only person in the building in the evenings so over time I learned to manage the switches and routers so I didn’t have to call people in and ruin their evenings. I continued this at NCR as I was quickly placed as the person responsible for keeping the build servers up and active. This includes the 3 different times the servers had to be moved to new locations in the building changing the network segments and all the IP addresses of every machine. NCR utilized switchport security so I also had to coordinate with the IT staff to activate the proper ports.

My experiences have taken me through many different types of hardware and servers and I have worked with Dell, HP, and IBM as well as hand built custom solutions. While I haven’t had the chance to gain extensive experience with any one type of infrastructure management software such as HPE OneView, vSphere, or The Dell Management Console, I am a very fast learner and can learn such applications quickly.

I dislike being stagnant and in order to keep my skills and knowledge up during personal time I have taken the opportunity to work through parts of different certification training videos (Microsoft, Cisco, A+). I am focusing on Cisco certifications starting with CCNA Routing and Switching as it matches my strongest skill set and highest level of interest. I am currently reviewing the information for the CCNA.

I am available at your earliest convenience to discuss my skills and experience as well as how I can enable you to meet your future goals. Feel free to contact me at the phone number or email above.

Sincerely,

Brian Bergman
