Automation of Threading Machine (Major Project - Machine design)

Description:

Spindle travel automation with the help of gearing mechanism and sensor arrangement.

Previous mechanism was held by pulling hand lever down for threading operation

We designed gears for transmission of force from electric motor to vertical lever for the vertical moment of spindle to complete the operation of external threading.

This design includes design of spur gear, screw jack.

We also used the sensors for ensuring the movement of vertical spindle.

We have increased the production rate by 2.5 times than older process and also the accuracy by atomization.

The time required for completion of threading operation is reduced which leads to increase in production rate.

As the process is automated manual assistance is less required reducing work stress.
