10/2008 to Present (F/T)

Systems Administrator III at Ultra Electronics - SOTECH, Prologic and 3eTI, (Formerly Special Operations Technology, Inc, Annapolis Junction, MD).

Operating systems and hardware support of a large number of systems, most of them remote, unattended, plus remote and local headquarters.

Deploying, patching, rebuilding, troubleshooting and developing scripted solutions for multiple issues, including recovery after power outages, time drifting on aging equipment and users authentication, work that earned me 4 company Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Managing and maintaining a VMware infrastructure with multiple datacenters and numerous clusters of Windows and Linux systems, including periodic backups of key VMs and optimization of configurations depending on workload.

Implemented solutions for the safe shutdown of the VMware ESXi hosts to safeguard the infrastructure in the event of power outages for two different scenarios: Using APC tools for systems on APC UPS and using RCCMD for systems running on GE UPS. This dramatically incremented the stability of the systems.

Created multiple NAS storage systems using decommissioned servers with high storage capacity, using Linux operating system and tools. These devices are used as NFS data stores on the VMware infrastructure and as backup storage. This saved hundreds of thousands.

Documented all implemented solutions that I created.

Translated into Spanish multiple documents in support of the Business Development department.

In 2012, was promoted to Systems Administrator III.
