RESEARCH & INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE
Isovolta INC, (Harrisburg, OR - R&D Coatings Chemist June 2015 - Present
Developed a new Phenoxy-Polyurethane based Emboss Resin conforming BMS specifications to qualify as a supplier for aircraft laminates division of Boeing.
Working on Building Opaque, Translucent color database in Spectrophotometer for accurate Color Matching.
Worked on characterizing all current laminate constructions at Isovolta Inc. in terms of formability, burning characteristics, texture depth intake and texture depth retention after forming.
Modified an existing glass fiber based laminate to eliminate de-bonding problems faced by customers caused by curling effect of laminates because of thermal expansion mismatch of the glass fiber cloth and plastic film layers.
Implemented low density glass bubbles in Eemboss Resin to gain deeper texture depths, and better burning characteristics with lower heat release.
Working on developing a foamed, low density Emboss Resin in order to impart very high texture depth to laminates. Volume increase of up to 400 % seen in trials. Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI – Graduate Research September 2013 – April 2015
Prepared Cost-Hiding Model for Latex based & Alkyd based Architectural paints by studying the effect of PVC & % Volume Solids on Hiding.
Synthesized Hybrid Water Reducible Acrylic-Urethane Resin.
Worked on Conductive Water Borne OEM Anti Corrosion Coating during Summer Internship at Chemical Dynamics LLC, Plymouth, MI, USA.
Worked under Prof. John Texter at Easter Michigan University on Synthesizing Nano sized Polystyrene beads & Study their coalescence.
Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India – Undergraduate Research May 2013 – May 2015
Worked as an Intern at “Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited, Mumbai”. Successfully completed the In-Plant Training, working in Automotive Lab, High Performance Coatings & Decorative Lab at their R&D Division.
Assisted Prof. S.T. Mhaske in his project on “Use of Nanoparticles in Modifying Rheological Properties”.
Worked on “Preparation & characterization of Shellac – Guar Gum composite films compatibilized using stearic acid” under the guidance of Prof. S.T. Mhaske.
Presented a Seminar on “Printing & Coating of Plastics” under the guidance of Prof. V.V.Shertukde. SKILLS
