Defined the requirements for design and qualification of the common Bus Power Control Unit (BPCU), provided the detailed LRU requirements definition, design for manufacture, development, pre-production logistical coordination, qualification, software development, test equipment support, and testing/reports completion.

The BPCU is a self-contained unit, when used in conjunction with the switches on the Cockpit Overhead Panel and the Left/Right Side console, provides External Power Contactor [EPC] control, External power protection, Load Shed control and Build-In-Test functions.

The main function of the Bus Power Control Unit [BPCU] is to provide primary power distribution control. The BPCU monitors the status if various system voltages, currents and contactor status and configures the busses accordingly for proper distribution of primary electrical power.
