OBJECTIVE:
My objective is to be the most valuable asset that I can be for your company. If you want a hard and smart working individual, one who is not afraid to admit when he doesn’t know something yet willing to pursue a problem with unwavering determination; then look at me. I have the requisite skills to break down the problem, gather the requirements, and then design a solution. I have experience, knowledge, and as a father I have additional motivation to succeed within your organization.
EDUCATION:
May 2016
Bachelor of Science in Software Development
Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois
SKILLS:
Learned the following languages fluently C, C++, Java, MySQL, Scala, C#(.Net), Visual Studios, ASP.Net, ADO.NET, and other web services.
Gained familiarity with IBM Mainframe Assembler, JQuery, shell scripting in Unix/Linux, knowledge of how to work with and install Debian, Redhat, and Ubuntu
Completed CSCI 490 - Data Mining, a Graduate level class, earned a B. The course required a presentation, a practicum, and a major project. The major project involved two check in presentations and two progress meetings with the professor. We took data from a website, entered the data into a Scala program along with Spark to create a live stream to form our model. We then used linear regression to calculate fuel economy and a decision tree to classify the data.
Completed CSCI 473 - .Net programming and earned a B. This class was completely team driven, with teams of 3 where we had to assign ourselves some part of the programs, and report to the professor how much of the program we completed. We used Visual Studios 2010 to gain familiarity with this software. We also learned and used C# (first 6 weeks), ASP.Net (3 weeks), ADO.Net (2 weeks), and other various web services.
Completed CSCI 467 - Software Engineering and earned an A, scoring a near perfect on our group project, then scoring a perfect on the final. In this class we used Ruby to gain familiarity with it, while most others chose Java. We met at least 4 times a week to review our progress versus where we wanted to be, mimicking an agile development strategy. Our project was based on a written problem, where we had to analyze and decide what the requirements were going to be. Once we had our functional requirements we mapped out the entire program. Then came the design. We created a semi-functional demo. We designed a fully functional website with a finished splash page and two working links to other pages.
