Oct. 2013 – June 2015 Northwest Contract Services for Microsoft Redmond, WA

Setup new test equipment and implemented improvements.

Created and maintained test procedures in TeamCenter.

Executed automated performance tests on the HDDs.

Performed several electrical tests on the motherboard’s switching/linear regulators, clocks, IR signals, copper traces, and eMMC Flash with the following equipment.

oTektronix and Agilent oscilloscopes with various probes

oTenney and Thermotron thermal chambers

oAgilent data loggers

oTektronix Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) scope

oAgilent PXA Signal Analyzer

oFlir Thermal Vision Cameras

oHuntron Trackers (curve tracers)

oLCR meters

Used the following software:

oJMP to generate the eMMC Flash result charts.

oPerl to create the eMMC Flash test scripts.

oAllegro to search for test points and component swapping for voltage margining on the motherboards.

oPowershell to create/modify the HDD test scripts.

oVB.NET

To develop/maintain an HDD tests User Interface to replace manual performance tests execution from command lines, copy log files, delete old log files, and check the status of the tests.

To Improve/maintain a VB.NET test log file parser to add support for new tests and to implement automatic test specification comparisons and chart generations.

Analyzed all results to create reports, published them in Visual Studio TFS test cases, debug failures, and created/updated failure reports.

Supported logistics of the test equipment and the devices under test.

Trained other personnel.

Validation Engineer for XBox One ODD Development

June 2012 – Sept. 2013 Northwest Contract Services for Microsoft Redmond, WA

Installed firmware on the ODDs.

Setup new test equipment and performed upgrades.

Executed automated functional and performance tests on the ODDs, analyzed the results which included utilizing JMP to create distribution and variability charts for the performance tests, published the results in the Visual Studio test cases, and debugged the failures.

Created/presented test results reports to the stakeholders.

Performed several electrical tests with different measurement equipment to check the integrity of the ODDs’ power and digital signals.

Opened failure reports in Agile, tracked and regressed the fixes, and updated the failure reports.

Created and maintained procedures in TeamCenter for the functional/performance/electrical tests and standalone media testers.

Assisted with updates to the test validation requirements.

Supported logistics of the test equipment and the ODDs.

Trained other personnel.

Sr. MTI Engineer

Jan 2008 – April 2012 CompuCom for Microsoft RnRs WW

Provided test support to the XBox-360, Zune, and Kinect repair and refurbish centers worldwide (RnRs WW) and to the manufacturing facility in Manaus, Amazonas - Brazil.

Provided training to the sites’ test engineers and test technicians on debugging tester failures and performing tester maintenance.

Performed test equipment maintenance audits which included review/approval of Gage R&R results, strain gauges, and test process audits.

Approved the purchase of test media and tester spare parts requests.

Supervised test equipment inventories and coordinated equipment transfers between sites.

Updated existing test equipment documentation and created new documents as required in TeamCenter.

Supported special product runs and new test software validations at the different sites.

Performed server upgrades and assisted with tester upgrades to improve production efficiency.

Held weekly conference calls with the test group of the different sites to review tester tendencies and corrective action items.

Conducted weekly reviews of the RnRs’ OBA functional failures and NRFs for test improvement opportunities.

Reviewed and approved product p/n change requests from the different RnR sites; enabled the different RegionChangeCodes on the sites’ tester servers.

Coordinated and assisted with the setup of new test equipment and processes to meet new product deadlines.

Performed time studies of various processes to confirm/update quoted process costs.

Opened failure reports on tester software and hardware for improvements needed.

Sr. Lead Test Engineer

Jan 2005 – Dec 2007 Tyco Electronics Power Systems Matamoros, Mexico

Completed a Six Sigma Green Belt project which saved over $89k in one year.

Assisted with the software/hardware development of a new modular designed (VXI, PXI, etc.) test set which tested several board mounted DC/DC power modules simultaneously at the board panel level.

Created a VB software tool for creating/maintaining the test equipment maintenance and calibration records. The tool also generated reports with user selectable filters.

Lead a group of 6 DC/DC power module functional test engineers and each year met or exceeded the NTF PPM, test elimination/test time reduction, yield, and NPI goals.

Performed all the required administrative duties for the group.

Attended the weekly management meeting to present the test group’s status.

Attended all NPI meetings and assisted with major blocking issues.

Assisted in the inspection and packaging of equipment transferred to China.

CVI and Pascal test programs for existing and new board mounted

DC/DC power modules.

Documented all changes to fixture designs and test programs.

Trouble shot false and hard failures to implement corrective actions for yield

improvements.

Generated monthly customer reports (yields, Cpks, detailed failure data,

corrective actions) and supported customer audits and conference calls.

Trained test and diagnostic technicians on debugging failures.

Eliminated tests and reduced test times to increase test capacity.
