Environmental Specialist 02/2014 – 03/2015 Vectrus, Camp Buehring Kuwait

• Gave instruction on all environmental and safety matters and acted as a liaison between intergovernmental organizations and the US military. Monitored all hazardous materials and waste on base including hydrocarbons, corrosives, gases and refrigerant.

• Delivered training to 100+ Environmental Officers for each rotational tour, which I undertook the responsibility of creating the lesson material for. Monitored air emissions, wastewater, pest management, recycling and advised on the making of spill prevention response plans and ensured SDS inventories were up to date and fully accessible at all times.

• A strong understanding of US environmental regulation and law (OSHA, ANSI, 40CFR, 29CFR, NFPA etc.) was imperative due to required continual renewal of our policies and working instructions, which we updated ourselves.

• Complete environmental audits and baseline surveys of 50+ sites including full in detailed inventories of all HazMat present and created an individual plan for each site to manage them correctly and safely. A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work with very limited supervision was essential as I was often alone in coordinating and completing all audits on base. Reception Teacher 09/2013 – 02/2014 Kuwait International English School Taught a class of 18, 4-5-year-old children. As their sole teacher I was responsible for teaching all subjects apart from Arabic. Responsibilities included quarterly report writing, parent teacher meetings, child ability assessment, lesson plan writing and teaching English as a second language. Along with teaching my reception class I also taught an additional year 8 class, for supplementary science and geography.
