• Completed a database containing all the SNPs related to stroke genetics

• Calculated quality control parameters within this database

Biofilm research of H. la

• Optimized culture conditions for biofilm induction in haloarchaea H. lacusprofundi

• Developed a quantitative method to measure the amount of biofilm formed in different conditions

• Completed a bioinformatics project on prokaryotic and eukaryotic protein clusters by writing Perl script and utilizing MySQL database

Genetics analysis of E. coli biofilm

• Analyzed genetics factors associated with virulent biofilm formation in atypical enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC)

• Performed random transposon mutagenesis to generate multiple strains of EAEC 101-1

• Applied a biofilm assay to examine the effect of these mutations

Study of zinc channel structure

• Prepared PC-3 cell lysates and determined protein concentration by BCA assay

• Transient transferred PC-3 cells with zinc channel expressing plasmid and studied zinc channel structure in cell
