THEME OF DOCTORAL RESEARCH

Sophorolipids are kind of biosurfactants produced by yeasts. These molecules consist of sophorose as the hydrophilic head group and variable lipidic entity as tail group. This amphiphilic nature confers variety of biological and physicochemical properties to these molecules. The work encompasses synthesis of structurally altered glycolipids and exploration of their physicochemical properties and its application studies.
