Dear Prospective Employer:

I suspect you will find very few candidates with a background such as mine and it is one I would like to put to work on your behalf. I was born and raised in Bosnia, where I lived for twenty-five years. I have lived in the United States for approximately nineteen years, and I am bilingual in Bosnian and English.

As you will see on the enclosed resume, the depth of my experience as a medical interpreter offers you the opportunity to hire a professional interpreter who is committed to ongoing professional training and who is comfortable with health care terminology in both Bosnian and English.

In an effort to increase and improve my interpretation skills, I have completed numerous courses in interpreting, medical terminology, English, and communications. Additionally, I have just obtained American Red Cross Certification in CPR/AED for Pro Rescuers, Responding to Emergencies, and First Aid. Since 2010, I have been pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies, which may eventually allow me to interpret in Arabic as well as Bosnian. I have had the opportunity to volunteer as an Arabic language tutor at Grand Rapids Community College for the past two semesters. In addition to pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, I just graduate from Grand Rapids Community College and obtained my Associate Degree.

My experiences in both medical interpreting and working at Target have helped me develop important skills in customer service as I listen to customers, understand what they need, and do my best to effectively meet those needs.

A personal interview would allow me to demonstrate my talents. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can schedule a meeting.

Sincerely,

Azra Kulic
