Professional Experience
Field Engineer 11/2014 – 01/2016
Logicalis Latam S.A - Buenos Aires, Argentina (Activity: provider of IT solutions and managed services).
Field engineer in the Post-sale area, principally focus on routing and switching Cisco technologies in service provider and Data Center environment. Responsible for the design, documentation and implementation of projects assigned by the company, according to customer requirements. Projects developed:
Client: Bank HSBC Argentina: upgrading of Catalyst technology to Nexus (DCLAN). I performed low-level design of the solution and implemented it. Equipment involved: Nexus 7010, Nexus 5048, Nexus 2048T, Catalyst 6500, Catalyst 4500 and Catalyst 2900. Different VDC (Core, Aggregation and OTV) were implemented. The L3 protocol was EIGRP. LACP & VRRP were implemented to offer better redundancy, VPCs were configured in different levels. FEX was configured between Nexus 5048 and Nexus 2048T. OTV was implemented to interconnect the two datacenter.
Client: Bank Santander Rio: replacing the core of the MAN to technology nexus. The preexisting equipments were changed for two Nexus 7000. All configurations were adapted to the new technology. EIGRP/VRRP & PVST was used in this project.
Client: Claro Argentina (Telmex): Several projects developed, some of them involved: upgrading Controller SUP 720 to 2T in Catalyst 6500 in six different HUB’s. Equipment replaced and upgraded in access, aggregation and core of the MetroEthernet network. Configuration and remote start of ASR1000/Catalyst 3600 ME/ASR9001. OSPF, MPLS and BGP were used.
Client Total Argentina: Inserting Nexus 5000 in aggregation role and connecting Nexus 2000 (FEX) to replace existing access.
Network Engineering Coordinator (Team Leader) 09/2007 – 10/2014
Metrotel S.A - Buenos Aires, Argentina (Activity: Telecommunications Service Provider).
In charge of the engineering department. Responsible for the design/implementation & maintening of the CORE network over 400 HUBs with VPLS, MPLS & MST. The equipments involved were: ASR9010, ASR9001, ASR900 & Catalyst 3800/3600X.
Design of long-distance backbone using redundancy; different technologies were utilized such as: Dark Fiber, CWDM/DWDM, OTN & SDH.
Assesment of new technologies. Analysis of ROI (return on investment) in short, medium and long term periods.
Some projects developed:
In conjunction with other areas, I have designed and implemented a provisioning system for all services of the company; which increased 3 times the number of new services per month. After the first implementation, support and control modules were added to the system.
I developed a solid team of junior technicians, empowering them to achieve high performance with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
I have coordinated and implemented the CORE migration of Metro Ethernet to VPLS network (Cisco technology both cases) was performed in a weekend with less than 3% of affected services.
I developed a new category of service for video contribution (SD & HD) over a new network OTN and dark Fiber.
