Performed Design Review of the robust batteries to ensure the correct and optimal integration of batteries into devices. Worked with product design, supplier quality engineering, electrical, mechanical engineering teams and S/W engineering team to influence early-phase design through product shipping to reduce project risk of cells, packs and devices. Carried out qualification audit in lithium ion cell and pack vendors’ global manufacturing sites to qualify cell and pack production and ensure ongoing compliance with BlackBerry’s requirements. Liaised with cell and pack vendor for qualification and certification.
Thorough experience in cell and pack design and mass production processes including electrode processes of IQC, mixing, coating, drying, pressing and sliding, and also cell assembly processes of winding and/or stacking, cell core forming and inserting, electrolyte filling and de-gassing, formation/aging, sorting etc., as well as design and quality control methods of SPC, DoE, DFMEA, PFMEA, in line electrical tests, OQC etc. Established long term working relationship with international cell and pack vendors in Asia.
