I am a Resident in Counseling, and have finished all but sitting for the exam in pursuit of my licensure as an LPC. I have 3 years post grad clinical experience as an individual, family, and group therapist. I have worked as an assessment therapist, outpatient therapist, residential treatment counselor, and in-home counselor. I have knowledge in building therapeutic rapport, case management, assessments, treatment planning, parent education, crisis intervention, coordination of care, and written & oral communication. While working with families at my current clinical position, I have been part of Family Treatment Team and coordinated treatment plans with foster workers from the Dept. of Social Services.

I have over 14 years of work experience with children and adolescents, and their families on an individual and small group basis, servicing all ages and a diversity of cultures, including the use of interpreters during sessions. I have strong organizational skills, which are demonstrated through team development, conflict resolution, troubleshooting, completing paperwork on time, and structuring and maintaining scheduling. I am able to adapt and perform in different environments. I have proficiency with teaching clients and using relaxation techniques, yoga, art therapy, nutrition education, anger management, and social skills training. I thrive in fast-pace and high-energy jobs.

Currently, I work part-time for Prince William County’s Community Services Board. I was PRN staff at a residential treatment center for adolescents diagnosed with Eating Disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. I previously was a behavioral in-home counselor for children diagnosed with Autism. My internship was for Prince William County’s Department of Social Services, working with at-risk youth. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a peer counselor for Assist Crisis Pregnancy Center, counseling women, helping them locate resources in the community, parent education courses, and life-skills training. I substituted for 4 years in the public schools, with every age ranging from pre-K through 12th grade. For 6 years I was a caregiver for children in their homes, working directly with families.
