EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Owner, MaidPro Murrysville
December 24, 2013-July 6, 2015
I owned and managed a residential cleaning franchise.
I located and prepared a physical location for the business. I sold our cleaning services to clients and established expectations with the clients. All aspects of employee management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll were performed by me. I took care of all legal, insurance, state and federal obligations, including OSHA compliance. I ordered all supplies and maintained all equipment. This business required me to use the MaidPro Service Cloud database and several state online programs.
Lead Medical Technologist, Histocompatibility Laboratory, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center
August, 1990-November 29, 2013
I reviewed and summarized the living related donor cases, including haplotyping, Luminex antibody analysis, flow cytometric crossmatches and cytotoxic crossmatches. I also reviewed the majority of Luminex antibody testing and donor specific antibody determination for all transplant patients. I reviewed DNA results when the Lead Technologists for that section were on vacation or leave.
I performed tasks that the other Lead Technologists did not. I grew the quality control program through disciplined administration of duplicate readings and testing of unknown specimens. I analyzed and compiled the proficiency survey results for review by supervisor and directors. I purchased capital equipment and played a significant role in equipment and microscope maintenance.
On a rotation with the supervisor and other lead technologists, I carried the administrative pager with a laptop one week a month. I interacted with UPMC’s Organ Referral Center, surgeons, nurses, donor call technologists and The Center for Organ Recovery and Education.
My input for performance reviews of technologists and fellow lead technologists was valued by the supervisor and administrator. I employed creative problem solving, especially with regard to reporting of antibody results in the absence of appropriate reporting mechanisms.
Evaluated testing platforms in conjunction with the supervisor and directors and developed protocols for the systems chosen for the laboratory. Implemented flow cytometric crossmatches using the CellQuest software.
Medical Technologist, Histocompatibility Laboratory, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center
April, 1987-August, 1990
Performed cytotoxicity testing for HLA typing and antibodies, Mixed Lymphocyte Cultures, mitogen testing and flow cytometry testing for T-cell subsets. In cooperation with the other technologists, I maintained a walking cell panel for PRA testing. Performed phlebotomy on cell panel members. Took 24-hour donor call. I also did most of the training of staff, pathologists, and visiting surgeons and nurses.
Medical Technologist, Clinical Pathology Facility, Pittsburgh, PA
June, 1981-April, 1987
Worked in the Special Chemistry and Immunology Laboratory doing a variety of chemistry analyses and immunofluorescent assays. Used several different testing platforms, including column techniques, electrophoresis, ACA and ABA.
