Recently graduating from Texas State University, majoring in Business Management, I now have an exceptional feel for what it takes to help run a successful business. My prior work experience, while limited due to being a full time student, also has shown me ways to contribute and translate my learning into an ongoing business enterprise. Waiter. Demonstrate hospitality while greeting and establishing rapport with guests. Guide guests through menus while demonstrating thorough knowledge of the food. Coiling Technologies Houston, TX Summer 2014.
Purchasing Assistant and Inventory Control Assistant. Responsibilities included both office and shop work to ensure necessary materials and finished goods inventory were readily available for a spring manufacturing company. Assisted purchasing in verifying current inventories levels that were both accurate and maintained at all times. Using both current need reports and historical usage reports to plan and purchase large quantities of steel necessary in maintaining a smooth and undisturbed production flow. Transferable Skills employed: Inventory control, Cost Control, Integration of Purchasing into the production of finished goods.
Texas State Golf Course San Marcos, TX May 2015 – January 2016
Cashier. Worked at the front desk of the golf course, serving beverages snacks and also renting out golf clubs to members as well as signed them in and took reservations. Transferable Skills employed: Organization, service skills as well as some management skills.
McCoy School of Business San Marcos, TX January 2016 – Present
Worked under the Dean of McCoy School of Business at Texas State University Denise Smart, and also the
head advisor to the dean Jana Minifie. My responsibility is to research business curriculums from other top universities around the United States and compare those to Texas State’s own curriculum for different
business majors. Once compared I write up a suggestions list of classes I believed would improve our university. Transferable Skills employed: Work with different databases, research and development, and working cross-functional with different departments to reach a better outcome.
