Objective and Qualifications
An engineering position that will take advantage of my experience.
Experience in designing and troubleshooting many types of electronic and electrical equipment.
Experience dealing with customers.
I have the ability to ask questions about a particular problem and come up with solutions. I am able to do this without insulting a particular design, person, or problem. Many times, the person working with the problem is too close to the situation. By discussing the problem or issue and asking questions to understand the problem, a solution or some possible solutions become apparent.
I have always worked in a manufacturing environment. Designs have to be able to be produced in a cost effective manner.
Teaching. The experience I have in manufacturing, working with other engineers, and customers would be valuable to students. The professors that had the greatest effect on me had real world experience.
Work History
1974 to1989 Chief Engineer, Time Mark Corporation
Various jobs - test technician, some machine shop work, screen printing, painting, etc.
Progressed to engineering technician and then engineer.
Chief Engineer from 1981 to 1989 when I left to start my own company.
Designed various power monitoring equipment and time delay relays.
Instrumental in getting the microprocessor design systems in place.
I did several microprocessor based designs for the company and was in charge of overseeing many other designs and seeing the designs into production.
I was also in charge of the mechanical packaging of these products, including PCB design, sheet metal design, and plastic molding design.
As an engineer and Chief Engineer, I corresponded with customers. I traveled to customer sites to work out new designs that were custom for a particular customer. I also did some field service, generally having to do with custom OEM equipment.
1989 to November, 2013, President, Midwest Time Control, Inc.
Started this business in 1989 building Synchronized Clock Equipment.
Designed all of the equipment manufactured by Midwest Time Control. Most of the equipment was microprocessor based. I did the electronics, packaging, PCB design, and firmware in each of the products. I was also involved in the manufacturing process.
Redesigned products as necessary due to component availability. These redesigns resulted in cost savings.
Designed injection molded parts
Designed and built vacuum form molds
This was a small company so I had many responsibilities including:
Advertising
Traveling to trade shows
Managing personnel
Working with customers
Accounting
Payroll
Purchasing
Etc.
Much of our business resulted from our customer service and working with customers to meet their needs and solve any problems they might have.
Many of the clocks we built were digital (microprocessor based).
We also built analog secondary clocks powered by AC motors and DC step solenoids.
I did troubleshooting and design on the analog type clocks also.
We also built a new design analog clock using a small DC motor that was controlled by a microprocessor to control the timing. I did all of the design on this system and selected the motor used in this system.
After almost 25 years, it was time to sell and pursue something different.
November 2013 to Present, Moon Industries, Inc.
I have purchased and remodeled houses to resell. I may continue this on a limited basis. One of the houses we bought, we liked well enough to move into. We are presently remodeling this house for ourselves.
I have been doing some consulting engineering for various companies.
March 2015 to Present, Home Depot
I have been working part time at Home Depot in the tool rental department.
Education
Graduated 1974 from Owasso High School
1974 to 1979, BSEE, University of Tulsa

Volunteer Experience
Most of my volunteering was related to school activities. My wife and I were Band Parent President for 2 years in addition to many other activities related to the Owasso Band Program. I helped design and build the trailer used to haul all of the band equipment in addition to building various props and helping repair other equipment. I was involved with this for about 10 years while my children were involved in the program.
Computer Skills
Word Processing and spreadsheet, I have used WordPerfect and Microsoft Office.
CAD programs - I mostly used DesignCAD in my business. This is very similar to AutoCAD
PCB Layout - I used Eagle PCB layout and schematic capture.
Licenses and Certificates

July 1986, Professional Engineer, State of Oklahoma, I have maintained current status.
