I recently graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University, April 30, 2016, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science with a Pre-Physical Therapy focus. I have a current background in Human Anatomy and General Physiology I and II, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Medical Terminology, Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Health Promotion and Wellness Management, Pharmacology, Exercise Assessment, Exercise Prescription, Nutrition, Adapted Physical Activity, General Biology I and II, General Chemistry I and II, and General Physics I and II. With striving for academic excellence, I have been recognized by the Dean of Students as an honorary scholar all six semesters while attending IWU. I have also received the honor of being inducted into the Honors Society, Phi Theta Kappa and have been recognized by Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges for outstanding academic achievement and student leadership.

I attended Saranac High School and obtained an Honors Diploma, as well as, graduated in the top 10% of my graduating class, which consisted of 141 graduates.

Experience
Rec & Wellness Desk Worker 2015-2016
I was responsible for opening the IWU Rec & Wellness Center on the days I worked. I checked in members as they came in and provided extra equipment for them to use while exercising. I also provided assistance, when needed, for instruction with how to use the equipment and for explanation of how a specific pieces of equipment provides benefit to the body in regards to specific muscle group.
Tutor 2015-2016
My responsibilities included assisting students in becoming more independent, self-confident, and efficient learners. My aim was to prepare students to achieve academic standards and success by equipping them with organizational tactics and skills necessary for efficient and effective studying. I have tutored for Biomechanics, Anatomy and Physiology, and have assisted with Chemistry, and Physiology of Exercise.
Academic Affairs Office Secretary 2015-2016
My job dealt a lot with confidentiality. I worked under various faculty members at Indiana Wesleyan University carrying out projects for them and in most cases had hands-on access to their personal records for those projects. As a secretary, I also assisted with conferences held in our office, as well as, escorting visiting prospective faculty to various meetings on campus. Aside from logistically work, I was there to build relationships and engage with faculty.
Internship at MeadowBrook Rehabilitation 2015
As a student intern, I was not legally allowed to have direct physical contact with patients during therapy, however, I did have social contact with them and was able to build and cultivate relationships with each patient. I prepared and cleaned equipment, assisted with patient transfers, took notes during therapy sessions, recapped and discussed patient conditions, attended meetings, and evaluated patient condition/therapy information.
Front Desk Worker 2014-2015
My duties included pursing interpersonal relations with all the residents of Martin Hall on Indiana Wesleyan University’s campus, providing information about Martin Hall and other campus activities/policies, managing finances, and creating a positive, encouraging environment for others.
Stewart’s Clerk 2014-2015
My duties included: handling finances, being personable and welcoming to all who enter the store, providing information and promoting any sales going on, maintaining a clean and friendly environment, and above all acting in a professional manner at all times.
Skills
I am a self-motivated and academically driven student. I excel in leadership, academic excellence, task completion, time management skills, and interpersonal relations. I am a good listener and take direction easily, as I enjoy learning new things and carrying out tasks to the best of my ability – seeing through that they are successfully accomplished. My strengths include discipline, responsibility, achiever, learner, and relator.
