Managed the design and development of the human resources function for an early growth technology firm. Facilitated the headcount expansion from 5 employees to a final headcount of 60 employees. Targets achieved include assisting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer with the acquisition of key engineering employees as well as support positions. Administration of required State and Federal documentation and compliance issues. Management of payroll, salary reviews and Fair Labor Standards Act requirements. Development of Management by Objectives program and annual review process. Other areas of responsibility included employee relation resolution, benefits administration and 401k compatibility research.

Toyoda-Gosei – A dedicated supplier to New United Motor Manufacturing in Fremont, California. TG supplies the rubber and plastic weather-stripping used on new automobiles produced at the NUMMI plant. TG had 350 employees at the Hayward facility.

Directed the human resource function for a 350 employee union manufacturing facility with $30 million in annual sales revenue. Defined and implemented the new hire process and new employee orientation as well as all employee manuals and policy and procedures for disciplinary action. Actively participated on corporate training and policy development committees. Primary point of contact for corporate and local counsel regarding employment related litigation issues. Managed all union related issues including grievance resolution and collective bargaining. Responsible for the recruitment and retention of all management and hourly production employees utilizing all available recruiting methods including the internet and temporary agencies. Developed and chaired the company safety committee including creation of the Personal Injury and Accident Avoidance program. Designed and implemented an English as a Second Language course for employees with limited English skills with the assistance of state provided funds.
